Description | Alternaria dauci is a necrotrophic fungus, the causal agent of carrot Alternaria leaf blight. It causes disease symptoms of dark-brown or black spots with irregular shapes on carrot leaves. This disease in carrot develops rapidly after infection by the pathogen and even leads to wilting of the entire plant. A. dauci mycelium appears flocculent when inoculated in PDA medium. Its spores were in black and fusiform shape, with an approximate size of less than 100 μm. | |
